The 2008 season was a year of rebuilding for the Breakers. With a plethora of new players coming down the season built into another good one with 2nd grade and 4th grade making the finals with 4th grade being pipped in the Grand Final. From the platform built on and off the field this year 2009 promises to see us back at the top!

Newport Rugby Club AGM

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Newport Rugby Club Inc. will be held at the Porter Reserve Club House, Burke Street, Newport on Sunday 16^th November 2008 from 10:00am to 12:00am.

Nominations for Office Bearers and Other Directors can be lodged with the Club Secretary, Fred Roberts, by email at froberts@device.com.au, by phone on 0408 659 016 or 02 9972 8222. No Members, other than those who have paid their annual subscriptions and other monies due to the Club, shall be entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting.

The Breakers are seeking nominations for all sorts of positions in 2009. From coaching and manager positions, to Committee positions and even Social positions - there are plenty of opportunities for players and supporters to get involved to varying degrees in helping make the Breakers the best Suburban rugby club in Sydney!

Breakers Players meeting

Prior to the AGM, a Breakers Players meeting will be held to agree as a player group our 'on-field direction' in 2009 and raise any issues and concerns as a player group prior to the AGM. An agenda will be posted on this site prior to the meeting and circulated via email to the player group.

The Breakers Players meeting will be held on Thursday, 30 October 2008 at Porter Reserve Club House, Burke Street from 6.30pm. Contact Rabbit on 0420 969 105 (email - jamesfroberts@hotmail.com) if you need any details.

2009 Season

Enjoy the well earned break over the off season. 2009 is going to a big season for the club. Watch this space for updates on coaches and training nights for the 2009 season. 

Colts wanted!

The Newport Breakers are actively seeking to recruit Colts (players aged 21 years or under in 2009) to the club for the 2009 season. The Newport Breakers are aiming to win the Division 2 Club Championship and improve on their 2008 season and the Colts will be an integral part in that success.

So gather a group of mates together and come on down to training at Porters Reserve (Wednesday nights from 6.30) and help make the Newport Breakers the strongest Suburban rugby club in Sydney.
